1. Do you accept walk-ins?

Walk-ins are accepted based upon availability.

2. Do you require payment at time of service? How can I pay my bill?

The Health Department does not refuse to see clients if they are unable to pay. We have a sliding fee scale based on your household income and overall ability to pay. Some services may be free of charge such as STD and HIV/AIDS testing. For services, you need to bring insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cards if you have them; and, proof of household income at the time of your visit.

3. How long does it take to get lab results?

Most lab results are back within seven (7) business days.

4. How do I obtain a copy of my medical record/immunization record?

Medical records and Immunization (shot) records may be requested at the Reception Desk at the Health Department or by calling (910) 592-1131.

5. How do I get a TB (tuberculosis) test?

TB (tuberculosis) tests are done by appointment every weekday except Thursday from 8 am - 11:45 am and 1 pm – 4:45 pm. To schedule an appointment, call (910) 592-1131. Walk-ins are accepted based upon availability.

6. Will my medical information and visits to the Health Department be confidential?

Yes. The Health Department follows strict confidentiality guidelines and adheres to the Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and North Carolina General Statutes.

7. Do you provide foreign language interpretation for your clients whose first language is not English?

Yes. Foreign Language interpreters are available in the Medical Records, Clinical, Outreach and WIC departments. Staff also has access to the Language Line to assist with interpreting.

8. How much does it cost to get tested for HIV/AIDS and/or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

There is no charge for HIV/AIDS and/or other STD testing unless you request a specific test not normally provided in the clinic.

9. How do I get a copy of a birth or death certificate?

Certified copies of birth and death certificates can be obtained from the Register of Deeds office located at 126-A West Elizabeth Street, Clinton, NC 28328. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. The Register of Deeds can be reached at (910) 592-8026.
