Sampson County, NC (June 2024): Sampson County Government is taking a significant step towards strengthening cybersecurity and building trust with the community. The County’s website has transitioned to switch from www.sampsonnc.com to www.sampsoncountync.gov on June 10, 2024; all county staff email addresses will switch to the secure sampsoncountync.gov domain as well.
Why are we moving to sampsoncountync.gov?
First and foremost, only verified U.S. government organizations can register and operate a .gov domain. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) manages the .gov top-level domain and requires a rigorous verification process. This ensures and identifies official county communication, fostering confidence and trust in the information.
When are we moving to sampsoncountync.gov?
Sampson County has transitioned the website (www.sampsonnc.com) to primarily use the .gov domain (www.sampsoncountync.gov) on June 10th, 2024.
While the backend data transfer is still underway, please be aware that the redirect function from the old site (www.sampsonnc.com) to the new one (www.sampsoncountync.gov) may experience temporary disruptions on certain browsers. When the change completes, sampsonnc.com will redirect users to the updated website www.sampsoncountync.gov
