As Christmas is quickly approaching and many of our churches, businesses, and civic organizations are considering outreach or ministry projects, Sampson County Department of Social Services would encourage you to consider giving to the foster children and adults who are currently in the custody of Sampson County. Each year, the agency makes an effort to ensure that Christmas is special for each of these individuals through our Christmas Cheer Program.

In previous years, because of the support of many community partners, we have been able to purchase clothing, undergarments and personal hygiene items for each of the adult wards and gifts for children in foster care. We have also hosed a Christmas party that included food and games for the children in foster care. This year, we will once again provide a party for the individuals served through Foster Care and Guardianship. All donations received will be utilized to host our annual Christ party at the Sampson County Department of Social Services and provide gifts .

You can see we have great things planned for the children and adults in our care, but we need your help! You can help in a variety of ways:

  1. Contact our agency by November 30, 2024 to adopt an individual or individuals, or
  2. Make a monetary tax-deductible donation that can be used to purchase gifts and/or items for the Christmas party. Checks should be made payable to Sampson County Department of Social Services - Christmas Cheer and can either be hand-delivered to our Agency or mailed to Sampson County Department of Social Services, Christmas Cheer, Post Office Box 1105, Clinton, NC 28329. We prefer to receive purchased gifts by Friday, December 6, 2024, and monetary donations by December 10, 2024.

If you would like to make a monetary donation or purchase items for this special project, please contact Tracey Odom at 910-592-7131. Ms. Odom may also be contacted if you have other questions or need additional information. Thank you for any support you may have provided last year or in prior years and we appreciate your consideration of any future support.
