Donate & Volunteer

Are you looking for ways to help animals in our community, but already have pets at home to love and can't find time in your busy day to volunteer at the Animal Shelter? No problem—you can still have a positive impact on lost, surrendered or stray animals in our community by donating to the Sampson County Animal Shelter.

Donate Money

Financial donations received at the Sampson County Animal Shelter are used for:

  • Animal enrichment programs and services
  • Animal medical services
  • General animal care and welfare

Here's how to send money:

  • Make checks out to "Sampson County Animal Shelter" and mail to:

    Sampson County Animal Shelter
    168 Agriculture Place
    Clinton, NC 28328

Donate Pet Food

Sampson County Animal Shelter is in partnership with Iams® pet food and receives highly nutritious dog and cat food at no cost to the Animal Shelter; however we are always in need of canned or wet dog, cat, puppy and kitten food. Any dry dog food is made available to all the rescues that work with the Shelter. Please bring all food donations to the Animal Shelter.

Donate Products

Toys (Kongs® and Nylabones®), leashes, collars, blankets, bandanas, towels, pet crates, pet brushes and combs are used extensively by staff and volunteers to care for animals at the Animal Center. Please bring your animal care and welfare product donations to the Sampson County Animal Shelter.

Note: We can only accept new or clean and gently used products. If donating a crate, we can only accept crates that are not damaged and do not have any missing parts.

Hold a Special Fundraising Event

During the course of the year, many different groups from the community host special events that graciously designate the Sampson County Animal Shelter as the beneficiary of the event contributions. The Animal Shelter has benefited from a host of special activities. If your group has an idea for a special fundraising event that you would like to host for the benefit of the Sampson County Animal Shelter, please contact Sampson County staff at (910) 592-8493 or at animalshelter@sampsonnc.com. We welcome the opportunity to meet with groups throughout the year to review and discuss traditional, creative and innovative ideas for special fundraising events so that we can best align the events with the mission of providing high quality care and services for animals at the Sampson County Animal Shelter. Once the event is scheduled, Sampson County will work with the group to make the event a great success for the group and the Animal Shelter by promoting the event through the County's website, through the Animal Center Facebook page, and through our volunteer network.

Hold a Restaurant Event

People have to eat - and Sampson County residents enjoy a rich, full and broad selection of restaurants. As such, a “restaurant night” can be a very popular event that can be used to raise awareness and raise funds for critical animal care and welfare issues in Sampson County. The "restaurant night" fundraiser gives the restaurant owner or manager the flexibility to select (a) the specific night to target for increased restaurant activity, and (b) the percentage of proceeds to donate to the Animal Shelter.

Once the "restaurant night" is scheduled, Sampson County will work with the restaurant owner or manager to make the evening successful for the restaurant and the Animal Center by promoting the event through the County's website, through the Animal Shelter's Facebook page, and through our volunteer network to get families and friends out to eat at the participating restaurant. If you are the owner, manager or loyal patron of one of the many outstanding restaurants in Sampson County, and you want to host a "Sampson County Animal Shelter Restaurant Night," please contact Sampson County staff at (910) 592-8493 or at animalshelter@sampson.com.
